Bernie L. Vines
Bernie L. Vines, age 84 of Searcy, passed from this life Friday, Sept. 28, 2007. He was born Feb. 6, 1923 in Edgewood, Texas to the late John and Edna Vines. He was a member of Westside Church of Christ and a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II. He was a minister for 25 years in numerous places. He also worked at Harding University for 23 1/2 years and McCoy Lumber Company for 12 1/2 years.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Lois Vines, a brother, and three sisters. He is survived by his wife, Lena Vines of Searcy; two sons, John Vines and Mike Vines, both of Searcy; a daughter, Molly Cheatham of Searcy; five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 4-6 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 30 at Searcy-McEuen Funeral Home. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Monday, Oct. 1, 2007, at the Westside Church of Christ in Searcy with burial at Weir Cemetery.
